TMC No. 11 - It's Never Too Late
2024 is a great time to begin

EDITORS NOTE:
Today’s message is a little different. It’s Monday. First, I’ll admit, this past weekend was rough. It was very busy and I wasn’t feeling my best self while I was needed in many places. Thus the delay in this week’s email newsletter.
As I thought about what to write for the week, instead of my traditional format, sharing resources, I want to share an inspirational story with you.
I wish you a great week ahead and I want you to know this: It is never too late to start something you desire. Reach out if you need support!

A Story of Support
This past Thursday I had the pleasure of speaking with a 91 year old man about an online business he needs some help getting off the ground in the caregiver/dementia education space. He's got the idea and needs some clarity and techy help. Yes, he's 91! and spry as can be working with his daughter who is in her senior years as well.
We met through a marketing group I belong to during one of our weekly gatherings. The leader of the group asked a question and this man answered and asked him for his thoughts and help. Our leader provided guidance and support while on the call. But this man needed more help than the shared call time would allow. So he asked the group for help.
When I heard his story and goals, I immediately wrote in the chat that I would be willing to help get him clear on his path. After I did that, two other people from the group messaged me saying they would be willing to help him as well, once I figured out his needs.
This man shared with me last night that he retired in his late 70's to take care of his late wife during her 12 year battle with dementia. He wants/needs to generate income for his remaining years (his family has many who lived past 100, even to 110). And he has an idea. A spark. And the energy. I was inspired.
His story is amazing. His niche is awesome. And he is such a cool man.
The Lessons I took away from our discussion:
- You ARE NEVER to old to start. You just have to be willing. My oldest student prior to him was 81.
- As with Hogwarts, “Help will always be given to those who ask for it.”
Do not be embarrassed or afraid or let your ego get in the way. Ask.
- Yes, there's work involved and if you have a passion, go for it.
One thing this 91 year old man said to me stuck out after I told him I was 52.
He shared, and I summarize: "Your 50's and 60's are the perfect time to work on your purpose and passion projects. You have lived enough life to know what that is and what you really want, while gaining the experience and knowledge to make it happen.
And for most at this age, you no longer have the requirements of raising your family and all of the "busy-ness" that goes with those years. You have the time to focus here now."
That was super powerful for me to hear from a man who has done a lot of living and learning.
I do pro-bono work like this from time to time when I'm called to it. As we end the year...if you desire/want/need help...please reach out.
Don't wait to get the clarity you need because you are afraid to ask for help or fear it will cost too much.I love to give back when I can.
I've been doing this marketing and business thing a long time. This may be just what you need to help you in your own journey.
