We're Live: The Morning Chill is Here!
Your weekly high-five to kickstart your weekend.
Editors Note:
I’m excited to share this first edition of The Morning Chill with you today. Every Friday morning I’ll pop into your inbox with a new edition to brighten your day as you head into the weekend. I promise, just as with life, we’ll get better with age as each week goes by!
My life’s work has been about inspiration and support for others. That’s what led me to start The Morning Chill. The older I get, the more things I have had to learn about while dealing with elder care, our retirement planning, raising our kids and balancing work. I thrilled to share my knowledge and connections with you - while mixing in some fun. After all: more joy and happiness in the world is a good thing.
It fills my cup to help uplift you as a cheerleader and connector as we deal with “all the things” that come our way on any given day - especially as we hit these new life stages that are new to many of us.
My inbox is always open, simply hit reply if you ever have a topic suggestion or need help finding a particular resource. Chances are good, someone else is thinking the same thing and may be too shy to say it. Enjoy your 5 minute Friday pick me up. Have a great weekend!

Connections of the Week
National Institute on Aging: This is a great resource to begin with. Their local affiliated agency helped me care for my elderly mom for over 20 years.
Get Your mySocialSecurity Account: It’s never to early to create your personal account to monitor your earnings history, change or update your personal information, or even get a Replacement Social Security Card.
AARP, Really for Me?: We may dread the red and white envelope as we approach the age of 50, but membership has its privileges. You can receive significant discounts on travel and food as well as other benefits for $1/month. This ain’t the AARP of our childhood! It’s time to embrace our age with grace. After all, we are here to live life to the fullest, and every discount helps!
Today I Learned (TIL)
In honor of the turning of the seasons this weekend. Our question of the week: Is September a Solstice or an Equinox?
There are two equinoxes every year: one in September and one in March. In September, the Sun crosses the equator from north to south. At the equinox, Earth's axis is perpendicular to the Sun's rays as the Sun is directly above the equator.
While the solstices result in a change of the length of night and day, the equinoxes do not. The summer and winter solstices result in the longest and shortest day of the year respectively while the equinoxes result in an equal amount of daylight and darkness received all across the earth.
